to cultural competence:
1. We involve people in their own care
2. We learn more about our patient's values, beliefs
and practices
3. We speak the language or use a trained interpreter
4. We ask the right questions and look for the answers
5. We pay attention to financial issues
6. We find resources and form partnerships with our
patients to meet their individual needs.
