During your first 1-2 weeks of treatment, it may be
common to have new symptoms…do not get discouraged.
It is important that you continue to follow your treatment
plan during this time and throughout the phases of rehabilitation.
Keep the treating doctor informed of how you are feeling.
The following illustration shows that it is very common
that during the road to recovery there can be a lot
of improvement with some flare-ups…we refer to
these as the peaks and valleys of recovery. The valleys
usually occur when a patient exceeds their physical
capabilities before their body has fully recovered from
the trauma or sometimes for no reason.
