Dr. Wynia has been a part of the Brookdale Health team for 7 years. Dr. Wynia has 14 years of experience working with patients suffering from auto accident injuries, neck pain, low back pain, arthritis, sports injuries, work injuries, and post-surgical complications. His focus is on exercise rehabilitation but uses many other therapies specific to your injuries. He is a trained manual therapist that we use often times for extremities. He incorporates a variety of interventions to develop an individualized exercise plan to allow you to achieve your movement goals – whether that involves climbing stairs or climbing mountains.
Dr. Wynia is a graduate of the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine’s School of Health Sciences and of the University of North Dakota.
Dr. Kara Talbot attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, and Des Moines University in IA. She joined the Brookdale Health team in December 2008. She has experience working with various orthopedic injuries, acute and chronic neck and back pain, and also women’s health rehab. She enjoys an active lifestyle, such as running and working out.
She loves to spend time with her husband, daughter, and yellow lab.
Dr. Rhianna Nichols is excited to start her career as a physical therapist at Brookdale Health! She recently graduated from Physical Therapy School at the University of Wisconsin – LaCrosse. She attended Viterbo University, also in LaCrosse, WI, for her undergraduate education.
Dr. Nichols was initially interested in physical therapy because she wanted to learn more about human movement, and she also knew that she wanted to work with people one-on-one and help them improve their life through movement as well. She has experience in both a sports and general orthopedic setting through clinical internships.
In her free time, Dr. Nichols enjoys being with family and friends and has a variety of interests including road biking, golfing, anything outdoors, and crafting.
Working at Brookdale Health since 2008, physical therapist assistant Evan Gorton is dedicated to making you better. His physical therapy career got started when he worked at a healthcare facility during high school and spent some time getting to know the rehab team and saw what an impact they had on people’s lives. This is when he knew that is what he wanted to do, help people move, live and feel better! He received his Associates in applied science, PTA degree from Anoka Ramsey Coon Rapids Community College. You can usually find him in the fitness area, because here at Brookdale Health he specializes in exercise rehabilitation which also includes patient education.
In his spare time, he enjoys being outdoors (when it is warm) playing a number of sports with friends and family, working in his yard, or camping in the BWCA. On the weekends you may even see him riding his motorcycle!
Jamie Pietila got into physical therapy because she always knew she wanted a career that involved working with people and she loves sports. Jamie played organized basketball and ran throughout high school and enjoys volleyball, softball, hiking and skating in her free time. Physical therapy was an obvious choice for involving both of these passions; it is fun to see results and be able to help people get back to an active lifestyle! She particularly enjoys working with patients doing manual therapy and exercise rehabilitation.
She is originally from Upper Michigan and graduated from Finlandia University with her Associates in Applied Sciences. Being from the U.P. is definitely what helped shape her love of the outdoors and camping, but she enjoys currently being near the city and having the best of both worlds here in Minnesota.
Besides sports, in her free time she enjoys reading, baking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
